5 PROVEN TIPS – Go Viral On The Internet: Brand Yourself and Your Company
Helping entrepreneurs and small businesses to grow and prosper has always been the first priority for CustomBulkUSB. As an entrepreneurial company ourselves we understand the challenges of small business onwers and innovative corporate leaders.
Everyone wants more traffic, more leads, more views, more likes, more subscribers, more tweets and likes, more followers, comments and shares — and wants to be blogged about on the internet. It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible to go viral on the internet. And even falling short of going viral can lead to a nice lift in sales and profits.
1. Focus on current and upcoming events and trends
You need to keep a bulls eye on current and upcoming events in your industry or market. People read about current events and if you blog about or share some information (posts, photos or videos) about any current event, you are more likely to be found by people since they are always searching for this type of information. For example, at the end of year if you blog about something related to New Year’s day or eve, your odds of getting noticed will increase. On the other hand, if you are writing or talking about New Year’s parties, clothes, gifts etc. in the middle of the year, you are wasting your time and resources. Like comedy, content release is all about timing.
2. Use visual content as much as you can
As mobile access to the internet continues to explode, most people prefer to listen and look — not to read. As a consequence, audio, video and visual content is king. Volumes of written text will diminish in importance and value. Therefore, inform, educate, entertain and explain as you can using photos and videos. Use titles like:
- “How to…”
- “Why do you need…”
- “10 tips to better market yourself…”
- “5 reasons you should not…”
Be sure to make you titles interesting, provocative — open your content with an eye-catching headliner. Keep it short and sweet.
The most important thing is to grab and sustain the attention of your viewers. In order to do so, put results, findings, or the most important / valuable items upfront. You only have 3-5 seconds to get viewer’s attention: people will decide quickly whether they want to learn more. If not they will “bounce” off your website or delete your mobile app. Simply put, make your content interesting, brief and clear. Don’t bore them with a long lecture or dissertation.
4. Reel your viewers in with a story
People are attracted to real stories. People learn best with stories and hands-on experience. Stories can be used in many different types of videos. A video asking viewers to help eliminate drugs from your hometown – framing it as a story makes it easier and grabs attention. Don’t bombard them with facts such as “by 2010 only 10% of the MSA population in your hometown was using drugs and now its twice as much.” Instead use a real-life story about a former drug addict with a video testimonial.
5. Share you content on Social media and YouTube
If you want to get exposure, share your content on social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Plus and YouTube. Remember, these social media sites have what is known as high domain authority. A high authority website that links to your website, increases your website’s domain authority. This leads to higher search rankings and more traffic. Finally, many people on social media share content everyday with friends and families all over the world. So you have in effect hired a non-paid marketing and sales force that is working on your behalf, 24/7.
